Parents/ Guardians

SPONSERS

Are you a parent or guardian of a teenager and are worried about how they behave or what they do online?

Here we will give you advice on how to deal with your teenager and keep track of what they do on the internet.

Advice on how to help your teen:

Give them privacy- a teenager never likes their parents always being on their case so give them enough space but not too much space or they will get detached from you.

Talk to them- having talks with your teen once in a while won't hurt. Ask them whats going on with school and always make sure they are aware that if something is going on they should feel comfortable to speak to you.

Set boundaries- If you are being too lenient with your teen this may make them feel they have the freedom to do whatever they like, this may lead to using the web in an unsafe way which could cause them to get in to trouble.

Check their social media accounts once in a while- By doing this it may make you feel more sure about how your teen is behaving on the online world, but if your child would prefer if you didn't check their accounts than don't but ask for a reasoning from them.

Keep track of their behavior at school- If your teenager is getting into trouble at school this may be due to something going on in their lives. Check on them and always ask them how their friends are as their may be things you don't know about going on online.
